18th century French Provincial Louis XVI armoire with stepped carved cornice over a frieze with burled walnut inset panels. Wooden and metal hinges, original to the piece, hold a gorgeous pair of carved doors, each inset with highly figured burled walnut panels, as are the sides. The base holds a single long drawer also inset with burled walnut panels ending with a valanced skirt supported on cabriole legs. This was likely a marriage armoire from a wealthy family as evidenced in the multi inset panels of highly figured walnut and fine construction. The yellow painted interior (not original) is further embellished with padded toile panels on the doors and perfectly fitted for today's entertainment needs. Size 84" Height x 48" Width x 22" Depth.
