L’inscription au doctorat est prononcée par le chef d’établissement sur proposition du directeur de l’ED (qui s’appuie sur l’avis du CS) après avis du directeur de thèse et du directeur de l’unité de recherche. Le directeur de thèse doit être titulaire du Diplôme d’Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) ou son équivalent ; il doit appartenir à un laboratoire support de l’ED SEVAB. Le taux d’encadrement souhaitable pour l’ED SEVAB est de 2 (soit 4 co-encadrements). Un co-directeur, membre ou non de SEVAB, peut être admis lorsque celui-ci est très impliqué dans la direction de la thèse.
